Seize power and build an empire of fuzzy cellular automata monsters! Inspired by Conways Game of Life, Automata Empire challenges you to herd hundreds of mindless automata subjects to smash your rivals castles and steal their territory. While your loyal subjects lack individual intelligence, you can sacrifice them to build chains of taverns and roads to impose order on chaos. Ready to invade? Build some high-velocity catapults to launch your minions directly into battle. Balance expansion and consolidation carefully to grow your empire into enemy territory and gain dominance over the toroid. Or cleverly engineer feedback loops to surprise your opponents with overwhelming force.
Simplicity meets complexity
The game principle is quite simple. There are some objects that each have a task. The game is very easy to learn, as you can quickly see at a glance what is possible. Complexity comes into play when combining individual... elements and circumstances; skill (and a little luck) is required here. After my first victory I played another game, with more courage and more difficulty. Even if there is not much to do, it is still fun to watch the cuddly balls scurry through the playing field and to watch how futile the opponent fails. However, a quite negative point is the traceability of the 'costs' of the buildings. In particular, nowhere seems to indicate how many units of the currency are currently available. This makes it difficult to plan a strategy because you simply wait until you can place a certain building.
Under'm the bottom line, the game for the low price is definitely a good addition to my game library and I can only advise all simple content gamers to access before the price rises
