Caligo is a small atmospheric walking simulator. Its an interactive story where you mainly have to look and listen. Caligo is the darkness everyone descends into one way or another, and to each of us its something different. For some its a short but exciting adventure, some will see it as a place to relax. Yet others will be reminded of their worst nightmare, while for a few, it might come as a revelation. One thing is certain however: everyone will have to answer one big question. What youll find there: - Various characters - each will have their own connection to the story - Unusual settings, each with its own unique atmosphere - 100% voiced dialogs which actually make sense and which will eventually form the full story of the protagonist - A choice thatll help understand yourself better
Caligo is a traumatically beautiful 'Walking Simulator' with beautiful graphics and beautiful music. Since there were no puzzles or tasks to do I could enjoy the game completely relaxed. The story that accompanied me is probably based on the stories of...
Joseph Brodsky, a Russian writer and philosopher who was very badly played in his hometown Leningrad and therefore fled to the United States. There he received the Nobel Prize for Literature for his Romam 'Memories of Leningrad'. Who does not know the book, has very bad cards to follow the background of the story. However, this is not tragic, as the game still looks impressive. In all graphics and parts of the game (even in the small drawings you find on your way to get one of the 3 possible achievements) the 'Memories of Leningrad' appear.
In hindsight the game comes down to Josef Brodsky`s most famous sentence:
Good day I am evil, how are you?Since all games with a philosophical background, whether about life or death, or what happens after it, or not, can never provide a satisfactory answer, I don't find it regrettable that 'Caligo' doesn't succeed either. . . A bland taste that always tastes of doubt always stays with this type of game!
Despite that 'Caligo' is one of the most beautiful 'Walking Simulator' I have ever played and is worth its money even without 'Sale' anyway. It was nice to dive into this world!
Ach yes, before I forget: A touch of 'Dante's inferno' is also included.
