Crowntakers combines turn-based strategy with RPG elements and takes you at the behest of the crown into a medieval fantasy world full of challenging encounters and epic adventures. With its randomly generated world, Crowntakers offers a varied gaming experience every time you set out to fight evil. As a hero on a mission, you’ll have to assemble a group of brave mercenaries to take on cruel enemies like barbarians, ferocious animals or deceitful thieves. Embark on challenging quests, gather vital resources and finally banish evil from the world.
Crown takers is a 2D RPG with turn-based battles, i. e. a tactical RPG. The story is very simple, the RPG part could be called 'RPG light', because character development, character equipment, side quests, interaction with NPCs, interaction in the group...
everything remains very pale or rudimentary. The look is very reminiscent of a board game with the eight-sided playing fields from which the cards of the levels are built. The turn-based fights aren't a masterpiece of complex strategy either, but they're done right. Biggest annoyance remains for me: a) Resting does not replenish life points, which would be urgently necessary, however, since there are only very few healing things which can either be bought only strongly limited or be captured by chance by opponents. And b) no memory levels, but only 'Save on exit'. This causes enormous frustration. In itself a nice game with nice ideas, but in the practical implementation it lacks violently. So, it just barely gives the thumbs up.
