A world destroyed by a crystal explosion, a mysterious threat hanging over its inhabitants, and a goddess who creates a hero. This is Ginger: Beyond The Crystal. The towns are devastated and their inhabitants disappeared, but there is still hope. Ginger must reestablish the connection with the goddess by purifying corrupted crystals that have spread throughout the worlds. It won't be easy; the worlds are full of enemies and traps across 15 different levels. Luckily, you will not be alone. Some characters will give you special abilities that will help you solve puzzles and defeat your enemies. There are three different worlds to discover, each one with its own enemies and incredibly fun bonus levels to test your skills.
Ginger: Beyond the Crystal is a colorful 3D jump'n'Run. There are 3 big upper worlds in which there is much to explore. There are 5 levels per world, so there are 15 levels in total, in these levels you have to solve certain tasks. Little by little...
you unlock various transformations, which allow more freedom when exploring. There are also 15 additional challenge levels where you have to jump through a course of platforms.
+ The environments are colorful and cheerfully designed
+ Each main level tells a story that continues in the next one. This is especially important at the end of the game.
+ There are 2 levels of difficulty
+ Classic jumping from platform to platform
+ There are many secondary tasks to solve in the upper worlds
- My first impression of the game was very bad due to technical problems. Only with the lowest graphic settings could I play without problems.
- Fighting the enemies feels strange
- There is a German translation, but I advise against it. The fact that the very first word in the game - Presents - is translated with 'Gifts' instead of 'Presents' almost makes me laugh. Apart from the disadvantages I had a lot of fun with the game. The further I progressed, the better I found it. Unfortunately, potential was not exploited in some places. I am still satisfied and rate Ginger: Beyond the Crystal with 8 out of 10 points. Fans of 3D jump'n'runs can't go wrong here.
