Kingdoms and Castles is a game about growing a kingdom from a tiny hamlet to a sprawling city and imposing castle. Your kingdom must survive a living and dangerous world. Do the viking raiders make off with your villagers? Or are they stopped, full of arrows, at the castle gates? Does a dragon torch your granary, your people dying of starvation in the winter, or are you able to turn the beast back? The success of your kingdom depends solely on your skill as a city and castle planner.
Even though Kingdoms and Castles may look like a cute stronghold, it's not, it's more like a chilly Sim City. br>
Was one builds a city or castle here and is also occasionally disturbed and attacked by dragons and Vikings, but they are... only 1, maximum 2 times a challenge, afterwards only a funny pastime while building and scurrying. Also, after 2 to 3 hours, all buildings were unlocked or built and seen, so that there is nothing new to see afterwards. The game is quite simple, not only from the presentation, but also from the game mechanics. Although the residents have rudimentary needs that are reflected in satisfaction, it does not require a great management to satisfy them. The biggest challenge is to provide enough food to feed enough people. The attacks of the dragons and vikings are no longer a challenge on the difficulty level 'normal' after the first few times, but that's not the point. br>
Much more we build up our small, more or less intact medieval world like in a sandbox. Whether functional, epic or simply beautiful, that is up to you and so you can say that the biggest disadvantage, the lack of challenge by attacks, is at the same time an advantage, because you can spend as much time as you like here and expand, rebuild and really watch your city grow. A little bit of the old settlers, only without this complex production mechanics. br>
Who wants to spend time for little money in a nice medieval scenery and watch the castle and the empire grow and build, will get his money's worth here.
