Lumini' - A game from the Netherlands. . . is that any good? ;-) And if!
The developers describe the game as 'Flow Adventure' and yes, that fits quite well. The Lumini are small light beings and at the same time a mixture of birds and fish... and with them you float through the continuous sections of the game from beginning to end. Little by little the swarm increases at checkpoints, which is also necessary, because the journey is not completely safe. There are fish animals and also plants, which want the small Lumini quite to the leather. Altogether there are 4 kinds of Lumini, the normal purple, the aggressive red, the fast blue and the yellow, the energy orbs (also hidden) can better collect with their energy. What they all have in common is paralysis. The way you play with the Xbox controller decides via A, B, X, Y.
Really interesting is that the game responds to the player's playing style and shapes the swarm accordingly. So, if you fight everything that hangs on the walls or floats around, you will get redder Lumini. Nice idea. If the swarm survives, the energy animals grow over time and become stronger. In order for them to grow, the small energy orbs must be collected, which 'grow' everywhere. In principle, the adventure is very linear, so that you really stay in the 'flow'. The level design and the backgrounds are very well done, partly a real feast for the eyes! But the secret star is the superb music. That's what the word 'glamorous' was invented for. The swarm, the great graphics, the sound effects plus music, all this together seems enormously homogeneous. Absolutely terrific. For the first run you need in about 4 hours, which is ok, because there is no wear effect. After the end a hard level of difficulty is unlocked, which I personally don't need now.
So: an absolute recommendation! Absolutely play and let yourself be enchanted!
