Masquerada: Songs and Shadows is a 2.5D isometric RPG, built in the vein of Baldur’s Gate and Dragon Age where you can pause combat to plan tactics for your party. Set in the Venetian-inspired fantasy city of Ombre where rare masks are the key to casting magic, Masquerada is dressed in the colours and style of French comic books and vivid games like Bastion. Players follow the Inspettore, Cicero Gavar as he returns from exile to solve a kidnapping that will shake up the foundations of the city.
Where am I supposed to start? This game is just adorable! The graphic style looks great and the effects are lovingly designed. The story quickly captivates you! You feel with the heroes and can understand their decisions. All conversations between...
the heroes and in the cutscenes are very well set to music! The background story and thoughts of the main hero, as well as the story about places, people and many other things in the world, is told through diary entries. What's to read, but definitely worth reading. But you can also play through the game without the entries.
I can only recommend this game! I had a lot of fun with it and for the price you get a great game that lasts 10-20 hours, depending on whether you read the entries.
