Nidhogg is the epic award-winning fencing tug-of-war, full of graceful acrobatics and clumsy stabs. IRL yelling and excitement may occur, in this ultimate two-player showdown of fast-paced fencing and melee attacks. Beware, advantages in Nidhogg are often fleeting, as new opponents continually spawn in your way. Use a variety of fencing maneuvers while armed - lunges, parries, and even dirty tricks like throwing your sword. If swordless, press forward with punches, sweep kicks, dive kicks, rolls, and wall jumps. The combat arena stretches in both directions, although besting an opponent only gains you ground. Matches aren't won or lost with a single kill, but with a series of kills granting you right-of-way to run/fight/flee to your own goal-zone. Each arena holds different strategic formations and chokepoints to use to your advantage. Until you reach your goal-zone, anything is possible. Only one thing is certain in Nidhogg… the only way to win is to outwit your opponent. En Garde!
This game is simple and ingenious. So simply ingenious! Once you get the hang of it, you get hooked. Addicted to slaughter
and sweet victory. The whole thing is actually simple and self-explanatory after
man has familiarized himself with the control... system. Whether a short match with friends
or a whole tournament with up to 8 players. All just a few clicks away. Even inviting to a match is done with only 2 clicks. The whole menu is extremely simple and user-friendly.
Online does not necessarily have to be played. Two players can also be controlled together
on one keyboard. One with WASD and the other with the arrow keys.
A controller support is also available for everyone who can handle the controller better
I think 15€ is really a little too much for such a simple game. But I would still recommend it. Steam sales are very suitable for this ;)
I got the 2erpack for only 3, 44€ at the Herbs sale and it was really worth it. It's worth every cent. The game mechanics needs getting used to at first,
but after a few hours of practice it is quite controllable. I recommend changing the default jump and attack controls before starting to play, because on 'G' and 'F' I don't think they've lost anything! Also, as with any game, there are a few minor bugs.
I could only find 2 during my first 4 hours of play, but
they can be ignored for normal play. Everything else was fine. br>
All in all it is a simply ingenious game. So, if you don't know what to play:
this game is perfect for in between. And even if you don't have the internet,
offline it still goes on. A single player campaign for hours of fun
also exists. Unless you keep losing and want to enter the monitor xD
Then you better stop ;) OP bots like that can really drive you crazy!
