Sonic Forces is a game that (as always) is played by the Sonic fan base. SEGA and Sonic Team promised that it will strengthen the Sonic series, but apparently does not. In my opinion it is a pretty great game, which should definitely be played sometime....
But first, the story.
STORY (no spoilers) --------
In this game Dr. Eggman tries to take over the world once again, but this time he really means it seriously. Shadow, Zavok, Metal, Chaos and Infinite are his new opponents. But Sonic is too weak against Infinite and fails. Dr. Eggman has really taken over the world and you must try to save the whole world from ruin. br>
In this game there are 3 gameplay styles: Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic, and, the special: Avatar. At the beginning of the game you create your own character, which you then play with. The Modern Sonic and Avatar levels were pretty good, but the Classic Sonic levels were 'okay. ' After all, it wasn't speed anymore, but platforming like Super Mario. (Not that I have anything against platforming, the controls are just a bit spongy as Classic Sonic. ) At the avatar levels, you got a weapon called 'Wispon. ' With it you can shoot fire, blow air, whip electric ropes against enemies, etc. And Modern Sonic Level were built like in Sonic Colours. The synchro is also all 'okay. ' Sonic very often brings spells that don't fit the situation at all, e. g: ''Green Hill looks more like Sand Hill right now! '', or: 'If Eierkopf wouldn't talk in the third person all the time, he would certainly have friends! ' Also the game was quite kitchy in some places.
The control was pretty good. Perfect for the Modern Sonic and Avatar levels, but not for the Classic Sonic levels. It takes some getting used to, but I don't like the controls on Classic Sonic Level.
I hope my review helped you. MfG: Grant~ ;3
