SteamWorld Heist is a game about space adventures and strategic shoot-outs. Play as Captain Piper and recruit a team of rag-tag robots to explore and scavenge the remains of a destroyed world. Board enemy spaceships and command your crew in a unique variety of turn-based combat, where the outcome is determined purely by your own skills.
The game is def. not too short
+ Graphics and effects absolutely OK
+ The dialogs are adult and funny, but also quite rare (Attention: Check dialog options in the menu!).
+ Story is something different, but sometimes weakens because there... is no voice output or translated cutscenes (subtitles only). Very rich weapons and item offer. I haven't seen everything yet.
+ The mouse/keyboard control has been successful enough after some changes in the assignment. The few little things that don't work so well aren't victorious. At least you don't need a controller (like the loading screen wants to sell! )
+ A 'Game-Plus' Option is available at the end
- music in the long run monotonous, but at least matching the scene and high quality in the jellyfish. I love the seldom sounding soundtrack, but it costs 10€ AS DIGITALVERSION on Steam. . . . . . . . . no thanks!
- Various translation errors
- The game is about 30% too long (many game magazines also criticize this). Missions repeat themselves, enemy types change too rarely/later not at all, story develops too slowly, monotonousness sets in early. Very sad! Thus, the replay value (especially with regard to steam success) is very low.
- Difficulty rather unbalanced for such a long game. This could also have been included in the mission statistics (bronze/silver/gold/platinum etc.). Three instead of 5 degrees of difficulty would have sufficed as well.
(- No multiplayer that could have thrown the rudder. )
<7, 5/10 points (Nothing for 100% hunters)
