The Escapists 2 is the forthcoming sequel to the multi-million selling, award-winning sandbox prison-escape game which will include, in a first for the series, drop in/drop out play for up to four players in both local and online play.
Escaping won't be easy though. You'll have to work around the strict prison schedule and avoid the unwanted attention of guards. Craft weapons and tools found (or stolen) from within the prison, but beware of cell shakedowns. Get a job or perform “favours" for your fellow inmates to purchase vital supplies, all while scouting escape routes.
So, I have now finished the first few prisons and would like to write a review. Who has already played the first part will be familiar with the basic mechanics, because not much has changed with the second part. New additions are the multiplayer and the...
online and local (which I always welcome). There are many things I like in the new Escaptist,
but there are also many small or big quirks. So, I give the game half a thumb. br>
-A significantly prettier look (compared to the first part)
-Multiplayer and Koop
-Beautiful and varied prisons
-Extended character customization
-Simplified crafting system (recipes no longer need to be found)
CONTRA:br>-Bitchy online mode
-Bugs (only annoying, but nothing game destructive*)
-No more than 7 'correct'. Prisons**
-Monotonous Gameplay (Missed Time Searches Other Prisoners' Desks)
-Tutorial Explains Too Little
20€ are really bold for this game, 10-15€ would definitely be more appropriate, so wait for
a sale or buy it in a KeyStore (u2665u2665u2665u2665 or **** **** u2665u2665u2665u2665). Besides, I can definitely recommend the
game to frustrated resistant people or Prison Brake fans. You should take your time and not let a failed breakout attempt demotivate you.
*Bugs: The only major bug I encountered prevented me from selecting items or using them, but this can be repaired by reloading the game (the game saves
now anytime and not just at night)
****prisons: Three of the 10 prisons are transport prisons. In these you have to escape from the 'prison' within
one day, there is no daily routine and guards attack at sighting
immediately. This is also fun, but in my opinion, it should not be promoted as a full-fledged prison. TIP: If you don't have a plan how to escape, use either the phones in the jail or the notes in the TGs. Alternatively, check your criminal record, sometimes the names of the
Achievements give you a hint.
I hope I could advise you with your purchase decision!
