Underrail is an old school turn-based isometric indie role playing game that focuses on exploration and combat. The game is set in a distant future, when the life on the Earth's surface has long since been made impossible and the remnants of humanity now dwell in the Underrail, a vast system of metro station-states that, it seems, are the last bastions of a fading race. The player takes control of one of the denizens of such a station-state whose life is about to become all that much more interesting and dangerous, as our protagonist is caught midst the conflicting factions of the Underrail as the violently struggle to survive in the harsh underground environment.
If you want to spend the coming holidays contemplative and post-apocalyptic and can't get started with Fallout 4, you should take a closer look at Underrail. An isometric old-school style Roleplay round tactic mix. Even the old fallout parts 1 and...
2 fade and the game is a real heart object of the developer. Starting as a leisure project and most recently as a full-time job, Styg worked on the title for several years. I bought Underrail myself two or three years ago on Gamersgate. There were only the first zones playable. But even then, it was a captivating piece of software. During the development phase I played the game twice until the last 'Level'. Even then, this was completely problem-free and bug-free. With appearing on Steam, I also received a Steam-Key but did not start again. I now wanted to wait until the absolute completion. Now it is time. The landscapes or many more catacombs, tunnels and buildings have all been created with a high degree of detail. The character creation is interesting and leaves a lot of scope for different approaches. The missions and quests are varied and challenging. There is also an extensive collection of small arms, crossbows, melee weapons available. You can specialize in booby traps or PSI forces. Excellent entertainment, dense atmosphere and action is guaranteed. For me it's definitely one of the best new releases of 2015, so much dedication and meaningful detail should be put into other clubs' alleged premium titles like here at Underrail.
