Verdun is the first multiplayer FPS set in a realistic World War One setting. Merciless trench warfare offers a unique battlefield experience, immersing you and your squad into intense battles of attack and defense.
I now have 150 hours playing time and can only recommend Verdun.
+Rarely used Shooter Setting (1. WK) very well implemented
+The trench fighting works
+Teamplay (best in a fixed team) pays off
+ completely different troop types (standard... troops with MG, grenades, snipers usually make sense, but with good teamplay the reconnaissance planes (alpine hunters) without grenades but with respawn with the first comrade are more useful to send reconnaissance planes. You have the typical 1st WK combat elements, e. g. when the enemy has unlocked heavy artillery it is often very frustrating because you are dead without seeing an enemy at all, but it is still not completely imba, then there is poison gas, nobody likes to run in there, even with gas mask, because you see almost nothing with mask and the gas takes your sight, very good tactical element works: well-placed machine guns keep half a team in check but can always be disabled with a good sniper. Bayonets and repeaters have the best medium range effect and always kill with one shot, pistols are very good in trench combat, flamethrowers have a really solid intimidating effect. Good barrage system
+no full price
+no full price
-entry somewhat difficult, one needs something until one understands the game mechanics, so how long an attack wave goes and when one gets better weapons, in addition comes that one in the first 5 hours constantly dies, until one raft that one holds the head down better under MG-shot.
All in all 85% of me, would definitely buy it again
