The future of flight simulation is now. X-Plane 11 is the detailed, realistic, and modern simulator you've been waiting for.
Well, what should I say, I can finally retire my FSX SE. I used the FSX as a Flusi for many years but this era is finally over (too bad about all the add-ons I bought)! With X-Plane 11 a new generation of flight simulator has indeed been released and...
I hope that the well-known add-on manufacturers will now provide X-Plane with a lot of additional content and offer it here at Steam. XP11 is already extremely nice to look at in the basic version. The possibilities offered by X-Plane 11 make the FSX literally look old. While the FSX or its twin Prepar3D still works with old-fashioned 32Bit, the XP runs as usual on 64Bit. RAM memory beyond 4Gbyte is now worth it and pays off. Creating and inserting your own photo scenarios (including Autgen/OSM) is very easy with, for example, the free Orth4XP. The loading times are extremely short in direct comparison with the basically ancient FSX. Since I am also a passionate HTC Vive VR pilot and the program FlyInside now also supports X-Plane, I am almost just off my socks. I currently have an Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 and the Flusi runs perfectly. By using a HTC Vive, I will soon switch to a Geforce 1080 to get the best possible graphical results. With Ortho4XP I created ZL17 or even ZL18 scenarios of my favourite regions for the VFR flight and already integrated them quite simply, for example the whole Iceland. I can only say that with XP11 only real flying is more impressive from a virtual point of view. Just like FSX, there are many websites with free content for X-Plane created by users. At this place a big thank you to the community! If you want exact information about XP11, you will quickly find it on the web. At least I won't put a single Euro into the FSX anymore, because it's really not worth it anymore.
XP11 = Future
