level. You work your way from room to room. Behind every door is something new. Thus, many rooms have several small or sometimes also a large construction field, on which one can place various little towers or e. g. buildings. You'll also find research towers, merchants, other heroes (you can have up to four in a team; not hired heroes but still defend your own room until you drop), treasure chests with ludicrous stuff (not only the characters are bizarre, they're also the weapons and equipment) and of course numerous monsters, who then kindly storm towards you from all possible rooms in waves, but still in limited numbers. For me, this game has a tremendous pull. Luck and bad luck play a role, but an adapted tactical approach is crucial to reach the 12th floor and thus reach the surface and win the game.
Conclusion: Dungeon of the Endless is Tower defense, it's tactics, it's Old-school RPG, it's humor, it's atmosphere and it's challenging. I love it and have already reached the 12th floor several times, just as I have failed miserably several times.
