Factorio is a game in which you build and maintain factories. You will be mining resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure, automating production and fighting enemies.
In the beginning you will find yourself chopping trees, mining ores and crafting mechanical arms and transport belts by hand, but in short time you can become an industrial powerhouse, with huge solar fields, oil refining and cracking, manufacture and deployment of construction and logistic robots, all for your resource needs. However this heavy exploitation of the planet's resources does not sit nicely with the locals, so you will have to be prepared to defend yourself and your machine empire.
Great game. It’s hard to believe it's still in the Alpha in March 2016. After more than 100 hours I still discover new things and find new solutions for old problems. The scope of the possibilities to build his factory is enormous, so it won't...
take a long time.
The content of the game is already enough. Astronauts crashed on foreign planets start a production with initially simple means to survive against the aliens and finally launch a satellite into space that is supposed to spark for help.
It sounds fast and easy, but it's not. You play the tutorials and soon you understand what I mean. To deal with the individual units simply goes beyond the possibilities here. They are diverse and each one makes sense. Depending on the organizational and overview talent you have, it can be fun to set up. I don't have either and yet it's a lot of fun. Even if you have to demolish and redesign large complexes.
All in all it is for me the best game since Civilisation1 and RailroadTycoon1 back then in this genre. So, a game I've been waiting for decades. . . ;-)
As a precaution, say goodbye to the family. . .
