Insurgency: Sandstorm is a team-based tactical FPS focused on deadly melee and multiplayer gameplay with fixed mission objectives. Get ready for a relentlessly realistic depiction of battles with deadly ballistics, light attack vehicles, devastating artillery, and HDR sound.
This online shooter has it all! Although Insurgency: Sandstorm is not Arma, it is located somewhere between the latter's military simulation and Battlefield. It is accessible, but requires training - remaining ammunition is not displayed, nor are enemies marked or firings reported. As in the predecessor, two unequal teams with modern weapons compete against each other in a fictitious conflict scenario in the Middle East. The Unreal Engine 4 replaces the outdated Source engine, while also introducing controllable vehicles. Unlike in Battlefield, however, vehicles are not the focus of attention, but rather function as mobile gun turrets.
Insurgency: Sandstorm instead focuses on class-based infantry combat for up to 32 players, with a focus on the authentic representation of modern warfare. The weapon handling in Insurgency is particularly credible - a single hit can be deadly. Each of the two factions has 8 different classes, which play a special role on the battlefield in terms of weapons and equipment. The team is led by a commander, who can request fire support like artillery or helicopters.
