Who's the monster, anyway? A girl moves through a flooded city like a black shadow, her eyes sparkle red. Except for an orange backpack, you can't see any clothes, only their slender contours. Her name is Kay and she is searching. But for what? What is she doing on her boat or on foot through this fictitious Berlin? Why does she explore the canals, bridges and streets like a lost creature?
Because she is lonely. She is so terribly lonely that she has forgotten herself. But she seeks transformation by courageously confronting her past. For as idyllic as this Berlin seems in its pastel colours, it hides some unimaginable fears. These manifest themselves in gigantic monsters that suddenly appear and are reminiscent from Ghibli animated films such as Chihiro. They hiss their accusations out like demons and seem extremely threatening.
