About Volvox

The Trimoebas are unicellular animals which populate the primordial soup and go forward rolling. They have a dream: build the first multicellular beings. To succeed in separating the order from the chaos they will have to dig tunnels, build towers and bridges, having on tap nothing but their triangular bodies, and their special properties.

Using just 7 of these properties Volvox has 250 hand-drawn levels, for about 60 hours of play, achievements and stats excluded. This variety of situations is available thanks to the main mechanic, inspired to the rolling without slipping, a relationship between the path traveled and the rotation of a Trimoeba. Level surfaces and Trimoebas influence each others knotting in solid enigmas.

Volvoxs difficult escalates quickly. It does not requires fast response times or peculiar experience, it is difficult because almost no one is used to think in terms of rotating triangles: for this reason both hardcore and casual players can find it interesting and challenging. Completing the game the first time a new play mode will be unlocked, to test your skills in a different way. Volvox is in addition designed as mental flexibility training, inducing the player to find continuously new ways to use the resources on tap, contrasting the functional fixedness.
