Already played DS2 on PS3, then SotfS on PS4 and now on PC. It's just a fantastic game and I still enjoy it. In my opinion better than DS1, especially because you can play it for 1-2 hours in the evening. I didn't feel that way about DS1. But...
there are already enough DS1/DS2 comparisons, so I won't go into them any further. In any case, you make very good progress and have a really good feeling of success between a few moments of frustration. The world is always very atmospheric and varied. The bosses aren't always bombastic, but there are always surprises - so don't let the first boss put you off. Also, you are often 'followed' in this game, which I think is pretty cool. First you bite your teeth out on him and later on you duel again in other places. I like mega. Br>br>br>Invasions of other players refresh the whole thing again and again. Initially an unfamiliar feature - now I'm just looking forward to competing against others. Not because I always win, but because it's fun. br>
You read a lot of reviews about DS2 and DS in general. The control is so well, clunky, hitboxes partly meh and so on. . . The bulky controls are just part of the gameplay. It has to be like this. Gamepad is IMHO mandatory. As far as the controls are concerned, I don't think GTA V is better, but nobody is complaining. Hitboxes aren't always ideal, but once you're inside, you'll be fine with it. And of course, it's a tough game. Who buys DS2 (even if it's a great bargain for a great game for 10€ on sale) without informing themselves beforehand and then after a few hours of play write a negative review here? I don't understand. Criticism is perfectly OK, but some people are simply to blame themselves. It's not like we live in the 90s and only have to rely on game reviews from the print media.
Much blah-blah - now at the end: I think DS2 is an absolutely ingenious game, which is unfortunately all too often poorly represented, because the Golf 1 was always better than the Golf 2. . . There are so many weapons, different builds, NG+, endless replay value, hundreds of hours of play time. . . My recommendation: Buy, die, bite through, have fun!
