Fran Bow is a creepy adventure game that tells the story of Fran, a young girl struggling with a mental disorder and an unfair destiny. After witnessing the gruesome and mysterious loss of her parents, found dismembered at their home, Fran rushes into the woods, together with her only friend, Mr. Midnight, a black cat that Fran had previously received as a present from her parents. In the forest, Fran goes into shock over the loss of her parents and when she recovers, she's at Oswald Asylum, an oppressive mental institution for children, and Mr. Midnight is nowhere to be found. After having a dream about her beloved cat, Fran decides to escape from the mental institution to find him and go back home to Aunt Grace, her only living relative.
An absolute pearl among the Point & Click Adventures. I have never experienced so much depth in a game. I took this world with all its facets with me and that's what makes this game so attractive. I just wanted to know what happened. It...
came to the conclusion that the puzzles are really comprehensible. What have I played other adventures and only had to try stupid things you would never have thought of. With Fran Bow it was completely different and extremely pleasant for me. I would like to praise the mini-games, which each time come in a different, detail-loving design and remind of old game classics. The story leaves a lot of room for interpretation. We didn't get clear answers in the end, but this story and all its open questions won't let you go either. So, I really hope for a second part. It is important to emphasize, however: This game can also well and gladly be finished alone for itself. Everyone should form their own opinion.
