Reviews
Who still has an "old" 360 and no PS3 and still feels like a similar adventure game, should play Deadfall Adventures. Although the title gambles completely from an ego-perspective and offers more of CoD-like gameplay without much scrambling, puzzles and atmosphere strongly remind of Naughty Dogs success brand, only the presentation - including interlude animations and dubbing - is not quite so Hollywood-ready and looks a bit cheaper with D.A... Also, the gameplay doesn't quite approach the Shooter-Perle CoD, especially since the developers transferred the PC control to the pad rather clumsily. So the left stick controls itself quite fast, but unfortunately not sensitively, because the keys A, W, S+D have been taken over without analog feeling. After all, the right stick emulates the mouse quite usefully, so that "soft" aiming is not a big problem, but it's no comparison to the big Activision shooter. You could have gotten more out of the conversion to the "good old" Xbox 360.Here, and there are a few bugs. So I could jump into the jungle ruins through a stone window into an area where the player has nothing to do. With some "fumbling," I could get back to the playable area. Also, I have a few times through "massless" rocks through glitch and fallen to death. Also, some checkpoints were chosen a bit unfortunate, so that you have to play action passages of several minutes again when you die. But all this is not a broken leg and bearable, especially as the graphics are mostly really tremendous and atmospheric when viewed from a certain distance. Of course, there are a lot of textures compressed to mud with such old hardware; you have to tolerate that. As a compensation D.A. offers the most refreshing mine wagon ride in the history of video games so far in my opinion - it's just awesome fun.All in all D.A. has become entertaining for the low price. As an old Indy- and Quatermain-fan, I had a lot of fun during the 10-15 hours campaign. I'm now hoping for more successors on the Next-Gen consoles, but please, dear developers, next time make sure that the left analog stick is programmed so that you can move very slowly and creepily.
