Bandai Namco Entertainment has unveiled the release date of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. In addition, a new trailer was made available at the Gamescom in Cologne.
The release of the flight action game will take place on January 18, 2019 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Players who want to play Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown on their PC will have to wait a little longer. The title will only be released on the platform on February 1, 2019.
The plot of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is set on the same continent as Ace Combat 3 and Ace Combat 4 and confronts you with the Second Usean Continental War, which will take place in 2019.
As a player, you find yourself in a punishment unit, a military force made entirely of criminals. The latter is charged with the defence against a new threat and you must join the Usean Air Force and fight for victory.
According to Bandai Namco, the humanity of the characters as well as the use of manned and unmanned aircraft play a very important role and are pivotal points of the plot. Players will be able to expect aerial combat in photorealistic, three-dimensional environments and celestial landscape, experiencing sudden weather changes and conditions that can be used for tactical advantages.
As the creators have already announced, PSVR owners can play an exclusive and special experience with the VR headset, while the campaign can only be played in normal mode on a TV screen.
