Without doubt, Red Dead Redemption 2 was one of yesteryear's big game highlights. The video game is an opulent work of art. It tells a story of nature, violence, death, and transcends the boundaries of the medium. But while Playstation 4 and Xbox One players have been able to enjoy the adventure in the Wild West for some time now, PC gamers haven't had the chance yet. The direct predecessor, Red Dead Redemption, for example, has never appeared for the PC, although a whole lot of rumours and leaks always suggested otherwise. This time, however, PC players will be able to join the virtual horse riding fun themselves.

The super blockbuster game is a monumental narrative, where life is at best seen as an ever-changing temporary phenomenon. The bandit Arthur Morgan plunders, shoots, and murders his way through North America. Morgan belongs to the Van der Linde gang, a community of lawless men and women led by a guy named Dutch, a prophet with a silver tongue promising everyone the prospect of wealth if they remain faithful to him.
The year is 1899: The Wild West is no longer that wild, but the blood trails of gangs run through the country. They get entangled in ever more insane ideas, train robberies, horse thefts, zinc-coated poker games, and sometimes end up in suicide missions against a superior force of bounty hunters. One meets confused preachers, crazy scientists, and looks into empty faces of babbling farmers. The game studio has succeeded in giving its characters a physicality that has not been seen before in the genre. Arthur Morgan's steps are heavy, his spores clink, and the fur of his collar swings in the breeze. If Arthur drinks too much, he staggers and everything becomes blurred in his field of vision. If you don't pay attention, the game will grasp you and won't release you for a long time.
Inevitably, you have to change places constantly during your raids - and thus see a lot of the landscape.

What does the PC version change?
Red Dead Redemption 2 supports higher frame rates on PC than on the console versions, which are set to 30 fps. The resolution should theoretically also be higher than 4k. According to Rockstar, the PC version has further graphical improvements, including increased visibility, better environmental coverage, and more beautiful shadows and reflections. Additionally to the improved graphics, the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, also has additional content, including new weapons and horses. Most of these items seem to stem from the multiplayer Red Dead Online mode and are now offered to PC players in the single-player story.
If you plan on installing Red Dead Redemption 2, you need at least 150 GByte disk space on your hard disk or SSD. However, it is possible, that the game will take up a little less space on your disk after installation. The console versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 occupy about 100 GByte. Apart from the high memory usage, the PC requirements for Red Dead Redemption 2 are not unusually high. Recommended, is an Intel Core i7 4470K, or an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X as CPU, and an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060, or an AMD Radeon RX 480 as GPU.
