The writer of the Witcher books, Andrzej Sapkowski, will serve as a creative consultant for the TV series. The majority of the writers of the show have worked on series like Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Originals. There are also a host of Polish people on the creative team who have worked on previous projects on The Witcher. While production started in late 2018, all major filming for the series has been completed. Unfortunately, one of the main characters was recast, making the crew need to reshoot some scenes. The locations used to film the TV series include Hungary, the Canary Islands, La Palma and La Gomera.

No trailer has been released yet, but you can get a first look at Henry Cavill as The Witcher through Twitter. A tweet shows his costume, the makeup and his bearded look. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich also shared some set photos on her Twitter handle, which will give you a clearer picture of what The Witcher series will look like when it is finally released to the public. However, don’t expect the story of the TV series to follow the video games trilogy, as the show will be based on the books. According to the showrunner a rough cut has been finished already, and the show will likely be rated M or 18+ - there might be some nude scenes like in the video games.
