At its unveiling at E3 2018, Sekiro - Shadows Die Twice has already made waves. In the run-up to the Tokyo Game Show 2018, publisher Activision and developer From Software have now presented a new trailer for the game that provides fresh information about the plot.

Vertical movement & grappling hooks

Although the narrative presented in the trailer takes place in Japanese and without English subtitles, the graphics, atmosphere, and gameplay are all the more impressive.

There is a lot of vertical movement which is reminiscent of old ninja games. The protagonist Sekiro jumps back and forth between house facades, while he pulls himself towards roofs with the help of a grappling hook and fights against numerous enemies with his blade. The RPG is being created by the developers of the popular hardcore role-playing games Dark Souls and Bloodborne, which is why fans expect similar gaming experiences from the new title.

The game, however, seems to move away from the fantasy scenario of Dark Souls, respectively the Gothic setting of Bloodborne and is more oriented towards feudal Japan.

Sekiro - Shadows Die Twice will be released on March 22, 2019, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
